Wellbeing Week
The students and staff of St Paul’s celebrated Wellbeing Week from 25th-28th April. A variety of initiatives and workshops were organised for each year group. Our aim was to promote the six wellbeing indicators; Active, Aware, Connected, Responsible, Respected and Resilient.
1st year students had peer to peer workshops by the Headstrong Committee. Students also practiced yoga.
2nd year students engaged in a workshop to promote healthy eating choices with the Home Economics Department. Students got to visit display stands with healthy v non healthy snack options. Students were educated on how to read food labels and had to guess which food product was healthier. Supervalu kindly sponsored this initiative.
3rd and TY students attended a workshop on Coco’s Law by Jackie Fox.
5th Years- participated in a Mindset Workshop by Orlaith White from Unit3 Health& Fitness.
6th Years- attended a talk by Dr Eddie Murphy, Clinical Psychologist on Operation Transformation.
Staff members participated in a Steps Challenge throughout the week. Teams of four were organised and staff recorded their daily steps and logged them each day. The highly competitive winners with a total step tally of 192,390 steps were Mrs Jackie Dunne (SNA), Mr. Maxwell, Ms L.Heffernan and Ms Ní Éimhín. Well done to all participants.
To mark the end of the week students and teachers participated in our annual 3km Fun Run along the canal. Students donated €2 to Pieta House and raised much needed funds for this worthy cause.
The winners of the race in the Junior Boy category were Riley Connolly (1A1) and Fionn Kirby (1A6) who were tied in first place. The Junior Girl category winner was Katie Rose Harrison (1A3), Senior Boy Category winner –Andy Murphy (5A3) and Senior Girl Category Winner – Kate Connolly (5A2)
The winners received a €15 Odeon Cinema Voucher –congratulations and well done to all who participated in the event.
