St Pauls Got Talent 2015

St Pauls Got Talent 2015
On the final day of term 1 the traditional TY fundraiser “SPGT 2015” took place in the school gym. With students from all years represented the acts ranged from solo and group singers, dancers, rappers and musicians. Most notable this year was the fantastic performances of the first year students where Ben Guinan excelled with a faultless rendition of Bridge over troubled waters. Rebecca, Taylor and Robyn sang Adele’s Rolling in the Deep, Billy Sinnott rapped about A fire in the carpark while Clodagh and Juliette danced their way to Jingle Bell Rock to great acclaim.
The Saucy Sesh Moths, in some very fetching costumes, danced their little socks off in a performance that could best be described as almost memorable!! Corrie B gave an awesome performance of the AC/DC classic Thunderstruck. Bence sang Love Yourself, accompanied by Daniel Byrne who gave a masterclass in electric guitar playing. Robert Finglas played the guitar and had the crowd singing in unison to Wagon Wheel. The Doyle sisters Afric and Vicky sang beautiful solo versions of Adele’s To make you feel my love and Elvis’s I cant help falling in love with you.
This year’s three judges were Ms Quinn, David Gillen and Adrian Tynan. In typical fashion they found it hard to agree on anything and the high quality of the performances only added to their prolonged deliberations. After what seemed like an eternity the eventually awarded 1st place to Vicky Doyle, 2nd Place to Afric Doyle and Ben Guinan as best first year act. All performers received a lunchtime and 11am detention pass. Special thanks to Ms Garrett, Ms Dempsey and Ms Murray for singing and playing and especially to Mr Marron for emceeing in style!!
