JCSP 2nd Year Book Review Initiative Celebration

Students who had recently successfully  participated in a JCSP Book Review initiative, facilitated by Ms. Behan, were rewarded for their efforts at a ceremony held in St. Paul’s Secondary School, Monasterevin on Monday 27th February. Certificates for successful completion of this initiative were presented to 14 students by school principal Brian Bergin, who in congratulating the students, expressed his wish that the they would continue to see reading as a very important life skill.
JCSP coordinator, Paul Marron welcomed the large attendance which included parents, family members and staff.
The students then performed an African Drumming piece under the guidance of Drumming Facilitator Eddie O’Neill who had been working with the students for a number of weeks.
Students Rachael O’Connell and Abbie Talbot read excerpts from their book reviews, giving the audience a flavour of the work that had been successfully completed.

 
All who attended were treated to refreshments, having enjoyed the impressive proceedings.
