Some of our Transition Year students who are taking part in the Foal to Race module as part of their TY programme had the opportunity to visit RACE in the Curragh today.
Students learned about the wide range of careers within the racing industry and explored the different stages of a horse’s career, from foaling right through to the racecourse and aftercare. They also had the chance to meet some of the horses, watch them exercising on the gallops, and experience what it’s like to ride a racehorse by trying out the racehorse simulator.
A huge thank you to Horse Racing Ireland and Equiip, along with Agri Aware, for providing our students with this fantastic opportunity. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and gained valuable insight into the thoroughbred and racing industry.
