green sch 1Pupil’s from St. Pauls Green Schools Committee recently attended the 1st “Green School’s Expo” in the RDS in Dublin. Pupils had the chance to take part in interactive workshops, attend talks and view exhibitions that offered information about environmentally friendly products, services and initiatives for schools

Pupils had a great day out and came home with lots of ideas for our action plan. The pupils got lots of free goodies on the day and even won a competition for their idea on water conservation!! Well Done St. Pauls!!!

Green Awareness Day: Feb 5th 2015

Green Schools News: “Green Awareness Day”!!

The green schools committee held a “green awareness day” on Thursday 5th Feb. Events on the day included: A rag day for the whole school, where pupils and staff were encouraged to wear an item of green clothing to support our campaign. There was a talk arranged for all 1st year pupils about recycling, and the important job each pupil has in keeping the school clean and litter free. There was a 2nd year table quiz that aimed to help raise awareness around green issues in the school, home and the wider environment.. “2nd year pupils also took part in a green debate, while 1st year C.S.P.E pupils worked on a stewardship project. 5th year pupils will also have a junk art workshop in the next few weeks. A great day was had by all, and the committee wishes to thank everyone for their co-operation on the day!!

Upcoming Events: Darragh Weir from the Kildare County Council will be a guest speaker at the next green schools committee meeting. Eoin Morton from “Neat Streets” will also be working with the committee to help with our Spring Clean – Due to take place in early April.
