This bursary is open to all students at St. Paul’s Secondary School, Monasterevin who will sit the Leaving Certificate in June 2021. It will be awarded to a student who intends to continue to full-time study at an institute of technology or university in Ireland, or at an equivalent institution overseas.
The application and selection process will take place in October/November 2020 and will be based on a written application. The bursary will be awarded to one student. The recipient will receive a laptop computer along with €1,500 per year of third level study (to commence no later than 2022 and for a maximum of 4 years) paid in two annual payments of €750 each.
It is a condition of the bursary award that recipients give a commitment to undertake a minimum of 100 hours of voluntary work per 12-month period for the duration of the bursary. Voluntary work can be undertaken with charities, community groups or sporting organisations. Confirmation of hours completed will be sought before payment of each bursary instalment.
The application deadline is Wednesday October 7th, 2020 and submissions should be e-mailed directly to cdevitt@godolphin.com by midnight on that date. You will receive an acknowledgement that your application has been received. Application criteria
• Should be typed and a 500-word maximum.
• Should identify your key attributes, your school and community involvements, your achievements and your ambitions.
• Should show clear evidence of research into your career area with objectives (education and future employment) to achieving your career and life goals.
Applications will be assessed on evidence of engagement in school and community activities and on the focus and clarity of the career plans rather than on level of ambition or personal circumstances.
In addition, please note that late submissions and applications which do not clearly state the applicants name and school will not be accepted.
