Flag Day

In the lead up to St Patrick’s day, celebrations of all things Irish were in full swing at St. Paul’s. March 16th is National Flag Day and this year’s Flag Day is of particular importance as it marks 175 years of our national flag. To celebrate this special anniversary a commemorative ceremony was held in Waterford a couple of weeks ago. The school was presented with a unique Irish Flag flown from 33 The Mall, The Wolf Tone Confederate Club in Waterford, the very place the Irish Flag was flown for the first time 175 years ago. This flag was raised this morning at the entrance to our school by Principal Mr. Bergin and Members of the student Council. The students then enjoyed Lá Glas and Trad Fest in what was a great celebration of Irish Culture. Well done to all involved
