The Attainment Strand in the DEIS (Delivering Equality in Schools) school plan is a critical component that focuses on improving educational outcomes for students. This strand outlines strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing students’ academic performance, skill development, and overall attainment levels.

Key measures used by the Attainment Strand include:

–        Active student groups,

–        Form Group Mentoring

–        Special Educational Needs provision

–        Pastoral and Academic Support

–        Junior Certificate Schools Programme (JCSP)

–        School Completion Programme (SCP)

–        Behaviour for Learning (BFL)

–        Introduction of Leaving Certificate Applied Sept 2020 (LCA)

–        Transition Year (TY)

By focusing on the Attainment Strand, DEIS schools aim to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential.
