On Monday 19/11/2018, 1st and 2nd year mixed spikeball teams travelled to Mountrath, Co. Laois, to participate and compete in a spikeball tournament, accompanied by Ms. Leahy, Ms. Martin and TY students. The 1st year competition commenced at 10:30 a.m., wherein the 1st year ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams took on Holy Child Community School, Mountrath Community School, Presentation Community College Terenure, Portlaoise College and Sutton Park. The first year ‘B’ team got through to the next round of the Spikeball competition.

Following the 1st year’s success, the 2nd year competition commenced at 12:30 a.m.. The 2nd year ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams competed against Mountrath Community School, Holy Child Community School, Sutton Park and Grennan College. The ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams won five, three and two matches respectively. The ‘A’ team performed outstandingly, winning five matches and continuing to the next stage of the competition.

On Wednesday 21/11/2108, 2nd year boys spikeball team from St.Paul’s headed to Grennan College,  Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. They won one out of their three matches, however they performed really well just missing out on qualifying for the next round of the competition.

Both years and all teams who participated on both dates performed excellently and intensive training lies ahead for the next tournament…  Congratulations to all students who were involved!
